Intern: MARKETING AND EVENTS COORDINATOR
Summary of Position
La Donna Musicale is seeking to hire an Intern. The Intern is responsible assisting LADM with marketing and outreach, events coordination, fund raising, and general office support.
Introduction to La Donna Musicale
La Donna Musicale, is one of the few organizations in the world dedicated to the historically informed performance of Renaissance, Baroque, Classical, and contemporary music by women composers. La Donna Musicale rediscovers the work of these neglected composers and has presented modern world premieres of works by Antonia Bembo, Chiara Margarita Cozzolani, Maria Xaviera Peruchona, Julie Pinel, and Caterina Assandra.
La Donna Musicale has completed two recordings and a third is due to be released this summer. La Donna Musicale’s first two recordings, The Seven Psalms of David, Vol. I and Vol. 2, feature music of the Italian-French baroque composer, Antonia Bembo, and her younger French contemporary, Elisabeth Jacquet de la Guerre. Together, these two CDs constitute the largest recorded compilation of Antonia Bembo's music to date, as well as being the world-premiere recordings of the Psalms. Volumes I and II have received wide acclaim and outstanding reviews in both American and European music journals. The reviews included Best of 2005 Goldberg, the prestigious international early-music magazine, and praise from Early Music America, published by the leading early-music organization in the United States. The first recording was aired on radio stations such as WPRB: Classical Discoveries, WGBH, and the Public Radio series Harmonia. La Donna’s third CD will be released this summer and will feature Julie Pinel (fl.1737)
